Run small pant sizes with commando are my normal size but these dont feel right

These are a different fabric than the ones I purchased previously. I thought I was buying the same ones so either I was wrong or the fabric has changed. The originals were soooo soft- the new purchase feels very different. I washed them before wearing or I would send them back.

I have a pair in beige. Im not sure how this is possible, but this fabric does not stain. Ocassional spotting? No problem. It will wash out perfectly.
